Holdfast Hustler Feature
It has been suggested that some of us might to build a common design for simple club competitions as mentioned on the News page.
A suitable design is the Holdfast Hustler from a while back which gave a lot of flyers a lot of fun.
It is cheap, simple and quick to build, and uses a 10 or 15 size engine. The link below will take you to a pic of the plan as it appeared in 1975.
Please note, where it says the rib/foam pattern is actual size, it is not! This is a pic of the plan which is double the size! Fortunately, most of the plan is simple measurements. Just scale the rib template to be 7 inches overall width. Unless you want to build one for a 40!
If a flying demo of a completed one is successful in recruiting interested members, we could have some building nights at the clubroom. This would be a great model to learn the art of balsa bashing!
Take a look, and any questions to adrianatratherbeflying.net. Right click then select "Save image as" to get a copy.
As we get a special mention on it, it would be nice to resurrect it as a club competition plane.
